| A. | History/Social Science: 1 year of world history, cultures and geography and 1 year of U.S. history; or one-half year of U.S. history and one-half year of civics or American government | 2 |
| B. | English: College preparatory English composition and literature required, integrating extensive reading, frequent writing, and practice listening and speaking with different audiences (including no more than 1 year of Advanced ESL/ELD) | 4 |
| C. | Mathematics: College preparatory mathematics including or integrating topics covered in elementary algebra, advanced algebra, and two-and three-dimensional geometry; 4 years recommended | 3 |
| D. | Laboratory Science: Laboratory science providing fundamental knowledge in two of the following: biology, chemistry, or physics. Interdisciplinary science courses can also fulfill all or part of this requirement (CSU requires at least 1 year biological science and 1 year of physical science); 3 years recommended | 2 |
| E. | Language Other Than English: Must be the same language other than English (American Sign Language accepted); 3 years recommended | 2 |
| F. | Visual and Performing Arts: Chosen from one of the following categories: dance, music, theatre, or visual arts (e.g. painting, web/graphic designing, film/video/inter/multimedia arts) | 1 |
| G. | College Preparatory Elective: Must be chosen from the "a-f" courses beyond those used to satisfy the requirements of the "a-f" subjects, or courses that have been approved solely in the elective area. | 1 |
